Cotton Incorporated and Polygiene Partnership to Enhance Moisture and Odor Management for Cotton Activewear

Cotton Incorporated is partnering with Polygiene to add odor-inhibiting capabilities to TransDRY technology, which improves moisture management and speeds dry-times for cotton fabrics in active, high-performance applications.

Headquartered in Sweden, Polygiene is an internationally-recognized supplier of odor control and freshness technologies for clothing, gear and other materials. The company’s odor control treatment is a silver-salt application derived from recycled content that can be applied to a range of textiles and other surfaces. For textiles, the technology can help reduce the need for frequent laundering, which helps save water and energy over the life cycle of apparel.

“Polygiene is a natural complement to our TransDRY moisture management technology for cotton fibers,” said David Earley, senior director of supply chain marketing for Cotton Incorporated. “Its performance in both field and lab tests is exceptional and only enhances the inherent benefits of cotton.

“We believe clothing designers and consumers alike will see the benefits for everything from sports apparel to travel wear to daily items like button-down shirts or denim.”

“We are pleased to be working with Cotton Incorporated, whose global reach will help introduce the Polygiene technology and brand to mills, designers and consumers around the world,” added Christian von Uthmann, Polygiene CEO. “Consumers already know and love cotton, and their experience will only be enhanced by the combination of TransDRY and Polygiene technologies in their apparel.”
